Re: MAKO Spearguns: What's new?
Oh, I guess Dano linked the wrong fins above. The correct link for the "PURE CARBON" ones is here http://www.makospearguns.com/PURE-Ca...ns-p/lfpcf.htm
So, it's 290 CF vs 205 FG Still.... |

Re: MAKO Spearguns: What's new?
CF "wear" at a much slower rate than FG but they will both be completely trashed from rocks and reef long before that happens. CF will chip, scratch, break if you are pushing off the bottom, entering the water wrong, etc. The benefit is for freediving due to light weight and more efficient kick strokes. If you do a lot of freediving then it may be worth considering but if not then no way.

Re: MAKO Spearguns: What's new?
I Can't comment on any of Mako's fin in particular, but "wear" on either should be fairly relative. It's all in how you care for them. Babied and taken care of properly, either should last you for years and years. I have a set of carbons and a set of fiberglass that have been taking beatings for almost the last 8 years, and show not much more than surface scratches. But, I've also seen carbons break at the bend and fiberglass crack at the tips. As long as you're not leaving your carbons out in the sun or using either to push off the bottom more than necessary, both should give you years of good use.

Update with the Womens Blue Yamamoto Camo Suit. This one comes in 3 mm only. If a thicker suit is needed, check out the reef camo

I think a nice feature that if the mask doesn't fit properly on your ugly freakin' face, they will ship it back on their dime AND give you a refund
