Pirates at Cat?

Woke up this am at Two Harbors. Got ready to dive. Thought I would check on the boat. It was windy last night.

Went to the dinghy dock to find the boat was gone!

The line was hanging in the water.

I knew Joe Talley was on the island so I hiked up to his campsite. Super cool dude. He took me all over the island and 7 miles offshore looking. We could not find it.

The wind was ripping and if you look at swell watch it could end up anywhere between Huntington and Pt Loma. That is if it was not jacked.

It has all of my dive gear aboard. We file a report with the sherriff.

It is a 15' center console Whaler with a leaning post. Please keep a look out.

Thanks guys!

Did the line look broken or cut or was it whole? Hope you find your boat! That sucks big time.

Re: Pirates at Cat?

Sorry to hear about that man. I lost my boat once when somebody cut the anchor line at two harbors. Luckily the harbor patrol found it in the middle of the night and it was tied up at the dock in the morning.

Ya the dinghy dock was full. Sometimes drunk fux untie one so they can squeeze theirs in. They don't tie or tie $hitty. Or it just got swiped.

Re: Pirates at Cat?

I've had the same thing happen a couple times at Bucco Days. I no longer tie up with a docking line. I now use a 20' coated cable and a lock. Hope you get it back.

Re: Pirates at Cat?

That sucks!! I was the Ranger you talked to in the morning over by the other dudes tent cabin, I figured you would find it somewhere. I used to have a skiff out there that used to float away time to time but I would always find it. I find it hard to believe it was stolen as we do not have much crime here but I guess you never know. I will keep a lookout for it, you have any pics of the boat? And what all dive gear was in there? Guns, suit etc? Keep your eye on craigslist just in case.

Exactly. People are dumb, I think that is what would always happen to mine.
