Did the abalone Die off result in more fish?

Here is a video I shot along the Sonoma coast. I edited it to 3 minutes. This is the largest concentration of Rockfish I have ever seen. I was wondering if the abalone die off resulted in more food available or if I just have been diving in the wrong places and this is normal. The original video was over 20 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6737LKL-HVs

Sorry I should have said there is 58 seconds of a jellyfish at the beginning because it looked cool to me.

If you have a longer attention span there are some fish on the video too

Man that was a nice school! Must have been fun just hanging out down there and looking up through all of that. Thanks for posting. Nice vid!

this generation, me included typically have an attention span of 7 seconds, about the same time frame as a vine vid.

edit: i did however, take my "riderall" and watched it while snapchatting my fan base

good vid!

No, the abalone die off and the increase in fish you are encountering are not related.

Schoolie rockfish (blues, blacks, olives) are always like that. Not related to abalone die off in any way.

That's why they invented microwave ovens and 30 minute sit-coms.
Because kids these days don't have the attention span of a tapeworm.
This is also the reason Facebook and Twitter are so popular.

Post your random thoughts and pictures on the internet in 140 characters or less:

"Today I went to Starbucks and had a non-fat half-caf vanilla laté, LOL"

Who the hell cares what you're drinking, and why the f*&K are you LOL'ing while you're drinking it?

Jesus, this is why I hate reading So Cal perch reports on Spearboard.

Back on topic, thanks for the video Myrel and too cool you got into a school of Blues that huge. We need to hook up soon and do some killing.

Did anyone notice he was blowing bubbles in the last half of the vid, or is your attention span too short to make it to 1:10?

Geez man, if you don't like the perch reports, then don't read them. No need to criticize other peoples stoke.

Only problem is that I've already clicked on it before he reveals that all he shot was a perch.

I'd rather shoot perch with a GoPro than a speargun...
