I believe the misguided point that 2F2 was trying to make is with regards to the dogtooth tuna not being an actual tuna but rather a mackerel.

I would love to know more about the commercial trip details though...seems that topic was overlooked or avoided.

Yes, I understand that, and I was trying to point out that he was being pompous.

Re: The Sherpa are out to play

I wouldn't define it as a commercial trip. Friends with a commercial fisherman and just having fun in the bay, we rally up what we can before we freeze our balls off. Individually take what we will actually eat and he sells the rest. In return we don't have to chip in on gas and or drinks for the day we are out 👍
I can definitely see where it seems a bit excessive but jump in under Howard Franklin and tell me if you think we are hurting the population, because I doubt it. And we actually didn't even get to out cap out limit, well under.

Re: The Sherpa are out to play

Real fishermen dont pose with another guy's sherpa. If that ancient, golden rule was followed and all the boys had posed together with THEIR catch, we wouldnt have 3 pages of smesh sherpa comments during the middle of winter . Rules boys rules.

Wow 19 posts on this forum and you're not only lying about your made up commercial trip, but you're also telling board members to **** off. I bet youll be here a long time. Despite that you say there were 4 others with you, I still only see one child in the photo.

Re: The Sherpa are out to play

That's one of the main reasons I didn't post before. You got the 1% that have to be different and argue or judge the picture. Lol I mean is it that hard just to keep your condescending comments to yourself? And you can say it was a lie that's fine. I didn't have to explain myself in the first place. But any further negative comments will be ignored but keep the recipes coming and also what you guys have been getting lately!

Re: The Sherpa are out to play

Actually you are accountable for the photos you post here, that includes your awesome 'commercial trip reports'. This isnt instagram, you'd probably have more likes or thumbs up, or whatever it is they use on there. People here actually commercial spearfish, some have done it their entire lives. So you arent going to be able to pull any fast ones on these kinds of people with a pile of fish, no gun and just one person in them.

Good job on the sheepie massacre, most look like good placed shots, just try to keep the "f uck yous" to a minimum, people might take you seriously.

Ps...since you might have skipped over this part, i posted the photo policy in an effort to avoid problems in the future.

7.) TRIP REPORT PHOTO/VIDEO/TEXT POLICY – Please do not post photos or videos of fish, lobster or other catch that exceed the recreational one day limit for the number of people in the photo/video. The recreational limit is for the time of year when the fish were caught and based on the laws and regulations of the geographical area fished (not to exceed US laws). The camera operator may be counted as one of the people catching the fish or lobster. Should there be no people in the photo, the recreational limit shall assume the number of people depicted or described in the report fished that day. Photos/videos that do not comply with this policy will be taken down. If the photo/video requires a judgment call, the moderators have the sole discretion to do so. This policy also applies to the PhotoPost Members Galleries section of Spearboard in addition to the main forum.

When you write text describing your dives and catches, please be careful in describing the very rare times when unintentional fishing mortality or wounding might take place. It is acceptable to post about such incidents, but moderators may use discretion if the post might be used out of context by anti-spearfishing groups or individuals. Please do not take any such moderator edits personally.

The per person recreational catch photo/video policy was designed to help avoid misuse of our spearfishing catch images by anti-spearfishing groups and individuals who wish to further restrict our sport on an emotional irrational basis. On the whole, spearfishing is a very environmentally-friendly gear-type fishing sport that is already adequately regulated in terms of species, seasons and catch limitations. We will vigorously challenge any and all claims to the contrary. Because we can see underwater what we shoot with a spear and thus are highly selective with our legal take, we have little or no "bycatch" as that term may be considered by scientists and regulators.

Re: The Sherpa are out to play

Creamy sriracha sauce is awesome. I've actually never tried it on fish, but just made some fried shrimp and coated them with it, and it's awesome. Next time I do fried fish, I'm gonna try it with that. Maybe make up a sandwich with it.

Creamy Sriracha Sauce

1/2 cup mayo
4 tsp Sriracha sauce (or alternate spicy Asian chili/garlic sauce)
2 tsp honey
optional: thin sliced green onions

Mix it up & serve.

Re: The Sherpa are out to play

No brand new members read the photo policy. You only find out about it when a mod takes one of your photos down for the first time...

If I was the OP, and I did a commercial trip for sherpas, I'd be pissed off about the rough treatment too.

Like kwtony said, try to make sure future photos have enough spearos in them to make the catch verifiably legal so PETA can't use the pics as ammo against us.

Welcome to the board, and I hope you accidentally post more awesome new nicknames for fish and stop trying to make nicknames for belligerent board members

And I'm *happily* married, by the way!

I do propose we start calling them "Sherpas" from now on. It is an excellent nickname, similar to "Mango." Please support this movement - any time you see these fish, chime in with a "Hey, nice Sherpas you've got there!". I see no reason for this to fail.

Lmao Tyson you're the man. Didn't expect much more of an argument from 2fish2. Guy sounds a bit confused in the head. And by the way Tyson that lobster hole you gave me a few years ago was the only one with bugs just after mini season.
