new to freshwater: living in FoCo Colorado

Hey, it's been awhile since I've been on the forum. I moved to Fort Collins from Maui a few years ago for work. Previous to that I lived in San Diego most my life. I did a ton of spearing in the ocean mainly yellows, halibut, rockfish, even scored some wahoo and pargo on some Baja trips. Point is, this is the longest I've ever been landlocked and I'm ready to kick the dust off my gear and check out the freshwater scene up here. By the sounds of it I'll need to get a shorter gun due to the poor visibility. If anyone is interested in sharing some info, meeting up, or knows anyone selling smaller rail guns let me know! I'd be interested in any advice or help I can get. It seems as though Colorado doesn't have the clearest regulations in place. I plan on scouting some lakes in WY and NE this spring.

Mostly interested in walleye and wipers but some carp will do for target practice.

Also whats the deal with pike in Colorado these days? Which are the main lakes we can legally spear in?

Thanks!

Google Rocky Mountain spearfishing. That is a good place to start meeting people to dive with. There is a pretty strong dive club at lake Mac Nebraska and they host annual tournaments. Green mountain reservoir and rifle gap are the only two reservoirs that I know in colorado that allow spearfishing for pike.

Thanks for the info svivian. I've heard numerous great things about the rocky mountain club. I'll look into it!
