Santa Cruz - My first diving video

Hey everyone,

I was invited out to Santa Cruz on Island Rat's "Under Taker." It was really nice to get out there again and I had a fun time meeting another diver, diving, and chilling. I passed on a few 10-15lb WSB early in the day. No one ended up seeing any larger models . I shot a few Calicos on the way back to the boat.

For all of you old timers and people who don't like any of the modern age hogwash (cough* Bill), you'll be happy to know that the sound track does not contain techno, trance, dubstep or any other form of electronically manufactured audio (which I actually am a fan of)

Enjoy

Re: Santa Cruz - My first diving video

Thanks Joe. It was disappearing past the point of visibility (~15ft) as I took the shot.

I just did some pool training with my gun and tweaked the bands and shaft. I think it's a bit more accurate now (it was a bit overpowered before).

Good luck at Cruz. Everything seems out of whack this year. Hopefully the islands will start behaving the way they're supposed to...

Gear question: Are you using your reel line as your shooting line, too?

Nice video. I love hunting Cruz, after a long day of striking out on the WSB there is nothing more fun than stalking those calicos around the feather boa kelp. Sometimes you even get lucky and a nice WSB cruises through the shallows too.

decent vis too.

the music was a little frantic at times, but yes, much better than "modern age hogwash"

I try to stick with KEARTH 101 soundtracks on my videos

Awesome. Looks like you got the head-mount thing down... Can't wait to see a video of a monster WSB.
What are you using to edit?

Yeah, I mounted the GoPRO to my mask. It's actually working really well

Yeah, unfortunately, no big WSB decided to say hi

My shooting line is setup for a breakaway so I can switch back and forth quickly. The rest of my shooting line (back to the reel) is reel line.
