Foie Gras Ban Overturned

Fois gras was banned in California about a year ago because of "cruelty" to geese.

The federal district court struck down the ban today, so at least for now, it's legal again.

Always nice to see wacko eco freako PETA laws taken off the books. Let's hope it holds up. I'm not a big foie fan but I'm definitely a freedom fan; I don't like being told what I can and can't eat and the entire idea of this law is insane to me. Apparently we can raise a goose to be slaughtered and eaten, but fattening it up so we can eat its liver is too cruel for California. Give me a break.

To each their own. I'm not a peta freak but I'm saddened to see this overturn. The way we treat the animals we eat is horrendous. We should be better than that.

There are alternative ways to fatten up a goose than force feed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvrgD0mAFoU

Hell, we electrocute them, shoot them, spear them, stab them, wring their necks, suffocate them by taking fish out of water and we drown some of them.

The goose's goose was cooked......... as long as it's done for food, and not for just sick pleasure, then stuff the bugger.

Been eating little slivers of it at work every night since it opened. Love the perks of high end cooking!
