Talking Laguna legacy 2 may 21st 2011

The OC Spearos, Orange County’s Premier Spearfishing and Freediving Club will be hosting the Laguna Legacy 2: Red Dawn Tournament on May 21, 2011 at Dana Cove Park in Dana Point Harbor. Due to the MLPA’s, this will most likely be the last tournament held in Laguna Beach and we are expecting a large turn out. To help fight the MLPA’s, the OC Spearos are donating half of the proceeds to the Partnership for Sustainable Oceans, United Anglers and the Watermen's Alliance to help fund the litigation against the MLPA'S. All California clubs are invited to participate as well as anyone else who wants to join in the fun. This is an open tournament and an opportunity for people to enjoy what Laguna Beach has to offer - one last time.

The tournament will be a three fish contest held within the Laguna Beach city limits and will follow the Nationals spearfishing rules, but will be in the scramble format. Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and a great raffle afterward.

All registrants are to sign in by 8:00am and the weigh in will start at 2:30 pm all fish must be in the weigh in circle by 2:15 pm. Food and Raffle will begin at 3:30 pm.

Here is the Link to an article published in the Western Outdoor News
http://www.wonews.com/t-PerspectiveR...ak-040811.aspx

Registration is available now at www.ocspearos.org. $30 for club affiliated divers and $35 for all other divers. Registration will include a tournament t-shirt (extra shirt $15), lunch, and 5 raffle tickets. Additional raffle tickets will be available for $1. Anyone can buy the raffle tickets. Remember that half of the proceeds will go to the Partnership for Sustainable Oceans, United Anglers and the Watermen's Alliance to help fund the litigation against the MLPA'S.

Re: Laguna legacy 2 may 21st 2011

This is gonna be a fun event.

There is enough kelp within the city limits producing WSB that time of year that there could be some big fish wieghed in.

Is Xtal cove within laguna city limits too?

Oh, and how big are you printing the fliers? Can you bring a stack to hand out at the tourney? That artwork is pretty awesome

Regretfully missed the first one; however, will definitely make it this time around.

GO WOLVERINES! ... or maybe I should be rooting for the Ruskies this time

Unfortunately xtal cove is not within city limits. Laguna City limits are shown on the attached PDFs. Northen and Southern borders.

I didn't think people would be so interested in the artwork, so I will see what we can do.

Its going to be an awesome event and I thin some monsters will be weighed in this year.

Yes, only man powered water craft. Kayaks, paddle boards, etc.
