Recently laid off, loads of time in my hands; looking for a buddy around Monterey Bay
Hello salty people
I've recently been laid off due to workforce reduction at a consumer electronics firm in Silicon Valley (while I'm at it, if you got any leads to a firmware/software + hardware mix of jobs, hollar at me, I'll send you my resume), and while I'm looking for a new job and preparing for interviews, I also have an abundance of free time in my hands that I'm using to get salty almost everyday since they laid me off around 2 weeks ago. I live in Santa Cruz and I'm hoping to meet weekday divers from all skill levels to get into the water with around Carmel/Monterey area. I am not a beginner in this sport, but I'd rather not get in alone, so I don't care what skill level you are at, if you're more advanced, I'd love to tag along and learn from you, or if you're a newbie, I'd also love to teach you a couple tricks in hunting/equalization. I just want to get into the water while I have a ton free time. A bit about my freedive/spearfishing background: I have a PFI Intermediate freediving certification (max depth I've hit in these waters is 102 feet, and I regularly hunt anywhere from 30-80 ft). I still regularly hit Carmel, Monterey and Santa Cruz areas for over 12 years and spearfishing for over 20. I also have a tandem yak that 2 divers can comfortably fit with guns and fins that I take out solo or with a buddy, I got extra seat and paddles for you. Hit me up if you're also free during weekdays to hunt around Carmel/Monterey regions.
