Monterey's looking good!

Went to Monterey with the wife for our 30th anniversary the past couple days. Got a chance to jump in for an hour or so at Otter's Cove. The ocean was the flattest I've ever seen, but the welcome change was the huge amount of kelp. Only shot one olive and a couple kelpies for fish tacos, but there was an abundance of life in the kelp beds.

It was nice just hitting the bottom and relaxing under the thick kelp canopy and looking up at all the smallish fish cruising around.

Ron.

Re: Monterey's looking good!

update: Monterey still good, pretty calm, slight breeze to the south. not a lot of fish to choose from

Went diving at lowtide yesterday.

Target: Lingcod, cabezon and Rockfish

Edit: Vis was about 8-12 feet. semi-murky, especially near the kelp

Got a good size *cab* at about 35'
