Spearfishing Northern WI

This is a long shot, but I figured I would ask. Anyone done any spearing up in the Ashland/Bayfield area of Wisconsin? I'm up here for the summer and wondering if there's anything shootable. Any info would be great.

Re: Spearfishing Northern WI

Anywhere in the Ceded Territory, where the Native Americans can spear, is OFF LIMITS to non-natives. That includes a BIG area of Northern Wisconsin. A check with a game warden will tell you if it is permitted where you want to spear.

I spear in SE Wisconsin where it's all legal.
Where permitted, all pan fish and rough fish are legal and may be speared. No game fish.
It's a good day for something.
