Mono to Shooting Line Quick Release?
Looking to put some kind of quick release where the mono and shooting line meet. Anyone got any ideas? I think it could come in handy in a few situations. There is one part that looks like a miniture stringer, don't know the name, that I think could work but wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas or have done the same. Definetly want something strong.

Get a swivel with a clip on one end. Tie the shooting line to the swivel then hook the eyeloop in the mono to the clip. Why do you wanna separate the two?

Re: Mono to Shooting Line Quick Release?
Seems like it woud be a quicker way to solve tangles at times or when the shaft goes all the way through a fish sometimes the shark tabs are a bitch to get through the fish and definetly have the possibility of ruining the meat if forced through. Also thought it could be a quick way to pick off fish like triggers and other fish when they show up in large schools and keep them on the shooting line until finished, obviously respective to limit regs. Seems it would be a lot quicker to get multiple fish off the line as opposed to getting each one through the shark tabs if theres a lot.

The clip is called a 6/0 disconnect clip with swivel. Seems like it will work fine but you might get bit by those triggers. So stay away from their mouths.

Re: Mono to Shooting Line Quick Release?
In California, we often have to disconnect shooting line from reel line to get our fish out of the kelp. And since most of us use slip tips, its a lot easier to just pull the shaft through in the direction of entry. A snap swivel is the way to go.

All our guns are rigged this way. Pushing the shaft back through a big bass sucks
