Re: Hali hotel

I saw them that thick I think 3 years ago, but only one that was big. The rest were just over legal or shorts. That's truly epic dude. Congrats. Thinking of sneaking out with the camera armed only with the hali hammer tomorrow, but we'll see what the wife has to say Good job dude.

Re: Hali hotel

Been watchin birds workin the sunset area every morning so I figured I'd sneak away and hit it on the upcoming tide. Was greeted with 1-2 foot vis and fish exploding all around me, just could'nt see em till to late. Left frustrated and went to my fave spot ( a few of u know! ) and proceeded to get great vis and a couple of flat ones ( the biggest just over 20lbs. ) Oh, today I had a mackeral attack my flopper in the low vis and impale itself in its throat. I had to pull it off!!!

Re: Hali hotel

It helps to work a grid pattern in and out to find the depth they are all holding at...this is how I locate halibut in bays with some fair success..

Agreed.

Also, I have been diving this week for horrible viz as well. Super bummed today when I drove down the OC coast to see the big swell rolling through still.

Nice job killing those flatties!

Re: Hali hotel

Its check in time again. It's been pretty quiet out here lately and vis has sucked. But it does'nt suck today! a solid 10-15 foot of vis here, and the flatfish are back around. Took a couple of solid fish and a nice rockfish. Water temp feels really warm and as long as the swell holds off it should be real nice!! Time to hit it!
