Re: Think someone is Feeding these thugs?

If the lobster in your bag were squeaking the lunch bell to the sharks. That didn't help either. Did you have a shark shield? My buddy and I on a safety stop in the Dry Tortugas had 3 big sharks circling us. He kept asking if my shield was working. Soon, as I turned it off. They started coming straight in. Turned it back on and they spun around and started circling again. A few weeks later when i went diving on his boat. He had bought his own shark shield. Nothing like a live demo on a product. Glad you climbed aboard all intact.

Send me a pm, we could probably work something out. It is tough round here w/o a scooter.

As for a shark shield.... I have seen them work (on divers ) pretty effectively. I have no doubt they help when spearfishing, but this dive was primarily lobsters and a few invisibile lionfish in the tube. Generally I don't worry too much about sharks, when not spearfishing.

this incident wasn't that big of a deal, but I definitely felt that they were extremely comfortable swarming around a diver.
