Re: Crazy Video...

What an F-ing moron. It's not the sharks attacking HIM that I saw as the most dangerous part of that whole encounter - it is the very real chance of them getting the fish and then dragging his line-entangled body underwater and drowning him.

Insane.

Re: Crazy Video...

No one had his back that whole time? A situation like that is 100 times more manageable with your buddy's help swatting and chasing them away.

Re: Crazy Video...

I applaud him,,he didn't give up HIS fish, he fought for it!
Where were his buddies!? They should have been helping him.
NEVER GIVE UP YOUR FISH!

( well...maybe.... if it was a Great White, or large Tiger...)

Re: Crazy Video...

I would add multiple charging sharks. One tiger could be managed with a gun. Two sharks and no buddy, you have no defense. He was lucky he didn't lose a hand.

Re: Crazy Video...

Here is a better film...HE WON OUT...He Boated the fish!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WzTh9l3mrQ
My saying is..
"All's well that ends well"
It makes for a better memory/story than giving up your fish and starting a feeding frenzy.
But to each there own...

BTW...you thought those were Tigers?!

Ha. Of course not. You mentioned the only species you would give up your fish to was a white or tiger.

Two Galapagos sharks(?), a green tuna, pole spear, no buddy and no boat may be a good time to consider cutting the line.

The video is awesome. It was also cut a couple times. I imagine many of us would cut out the cries for help.

Good for him though for landing the fish. Personally I hope I never have to use my dive knife to stab not one, but two sharks in the head. That could just as easily have really pissed them off.

Re: Crazy Video...

I think in this case discretion would have been the better part of valor.

I'd not take that diver out with me on my boat. I wouldn't want to have to explain to his family why their son/husband/dad had to come home in multiple bags.
