Cedar Key Salvage

Rough Saturday offshore but no shortage of gags and great vis. Knocked down our limit of fish before noon and decided to do some salvage work for the man cave deco.

Re: Cedar Key Salvage

That's pretty cool - I assume port-hole covers from a wreck? How deep and how old do you think that wreck is?

Not quite sure on the age but the frame will be ready for harvest in a couple more years. The glass on this one is pristine and an inch thick.

Re: Cedar Key Salvage

I’ll pick up some muriatic acid this week to get it cleaned up. I like them looking old like they are but will get rid of all the marine growth.

Re: Cedar Key Salvage

I would love to get a porthole, my wife would probably hate it, but she has already lost that battle to some extent.

As of today, the wreck is 8,269 days old. Starting with the build year, the vessel is actually 66 years old.

Re: Cedar Key Salvage

Here is were I will leave it as far as clean up. I plan on making a small cocktail table of it to go next to a recliner.
