Stranded Jax Hunter

I'm new to the Spearboard Forum, and making my first posts as means of introduction and to connect with local divers hunting in Jacksonville area. I have just relocated to Jacksonville, retiring from the US Army and living abroad. Iím a Dive Master with lots of experience hunting in the Caribbean and some off East Africa. Iím land-locked for now (no boat / dive partners) so looking to connect to learn and hunt in this area. I have absolutely zero knowledge on where to dive and how the fishing is.

Would gladly share expenses for boat dives off shore. Would appreciate any PMís to join you for a dive/hunt, and get me away from the never ending ďhoney-doísĒ around the houseÖ retired life is boring at times.

Welcome to the board..there are usually people looking for a crew so you should be land locked for long. I will hit you up when I have a spot.

Re: Stranded Jax Hunter

Based on the number of views my thread received in a day, I can see that this board is a good place to network and share.

@Ameliahunter: Thanks for the response, and would love you fill out your crew when you have an open spot. Would be great to go out with you and learn the local waters. Also starting to look for a boat, and need advice on what is appropriate for these waters and diving.

@Dive4bugs: Good suggestion. I do want to extend my future hunts/dives to other areas along the East coast. Appreciate any recommendations you and others may have.

Are you looking for a straight dive boat or dive/fishing?

Re: Stranded Jax Hunter

Really looking for a dive and fish type of boat. Surface fishing is not my preference... some like to feed them or fool them, I just like killing them.

Re: Stranded Jax Hunter

I have a boat and I am new here too. I have been diving here and have some numbers but I do not have any experienced buddies yet. 23 proline twin 115 optimaxs. I dive and fish. Usually leave at 0700 return by 1500-1600...

Re: Stranded Jax Hunter

Iíve never had someone question me so directly , but I am looking for a diving boat primarily, but always able to do some H&L fishing if the conditions are not favorable for spearing.

Guess Iím bumping up my own thread here, as Iím still looking for that hook-up with fellow Jax hunters to get me back in the water. Have made some good contacts so far, but looking to start blowing bubbles soon. If anyone needs another experienced diver/hunter to join in your trip, let me know.

WTF? Lol
As one of your current dive buddies...I think I need to re-evaluate the make up of our team! Does your brother know?

Re: Stranded Jax Hunter

Hey thanks! It's tough for a dive whore to be land locked for too long. Thanks for passing on my name, and will hope for a hook-up.
