Arizona newbie here
Did not see a specific area for the Arizona guys. I have been hunting and fishing for many years and have read some about this sport. I have been intrigued especially while out duck hunting and seeing the fish in the clear waters. One of my other, as of yet experienced sports, is bow fishing. I had the opportunity to pick up a small carbine (JBL D5) from an acquaintance. Since I was thinking about smaller bodies of water and some streams where I have seen Tilapia and Carp in large numbers I figured why not get a smaller unit. I have since read that this is a fair back up gun but may need to look at something larger if the bug bites.

Re: Arizona newbie here
Check your game and fish reg's. I believe that the only local lake for spearfishing is Lake Pleasant. For Carp, Striper, and Tilapia.

Re: Arizona newbie here
As I read the regs there are specific areas of many waters that can not be fished (by any means) and other areas where spear fishing is not allowed (designated swimming areas). Lake pleasant is only specifically mentioned as a lake where striped bass can be taken. It appears to me that Carp and Tilapia can be taken in most AZ waters by means of spear or speargun. This method is listed as a legal taking method and not specifically prohibited in the other lakes/rivers/streams. Definitely worth a phone call.
