Re: Site against free diving training
You stand a very good chance of dying pool training alone as you describe it.

Yes have a buddy for pool training. Reason one is when you pass out in a pool chances are no one will notice for a few mins. Drownings looks nothing like tv drownings. You will look just like your doing static apnea to the teenager working as a lifeguard. I do all training and diving with my buddy this way we know one another really good in the pool and in the hunting waters.

Re: Site against free diving training
You are risking death when doing any underwater stuff without a buddy. Lifeguard is NOT your buddy. They are mostly bored teenagers, texting their friends.

Breathing is dangerous and women cause throat cancer!I have operated hang gliders, airplanes, motorcycles, hotrod cars, scuba dive,Pet big pussy cats and a few crazy women .Im still alive!Take a course so you know the hazards and know YOUR ACTUAL limits.Dont push it because of macho buddies because they will get you or themseves hurt or dead.A big fish, your ego or your gear mean nothing compared to your health or life.Common sense and moderation go a long way in life in general.

Re: Site against free diving training
I think it is good to mention the site is not actually against free dive training. At the bottom of the main page they have this "For freediving and spearfishing safety guidelines and safety courses visit www.DiveWise.org and www.immersionfreediving.com." So that would seem to encourage training.
