OK, Freakin' beat this!

Totally unofficial, but during a commercial break, I calmed down, took in a breath and held it while kickin' to the kitchen, getting a frozen burrito from the fridge, microwaving it, and ALMOST making it back to the couch...does this count as the dreaded LRB (livingroom blackout)? Aprox 2:45..the burrito was still a bit cold in the center.

I though you were gonna say that you calmed down, grabbed the girlfriend, held your breath and went at it! smashing your 2:00 record and went for 2:45..Then looked at her and said " Can't call me a 2 minute man to your friends anymore", then slammed the door, went to the kitchen and got yourself a beer and a burrito.

The new time to beat is 3:41 . There are definitely people that will do over 4:00 , as I will. I hope to hit my 5:00 mark. Good luck to everyone.

Damn that's pretty good and that's beating everyone else's time by a mile! Care to share any of the techniques you used to get to 5 minutes?

I got 3.37 last night, but that was after warming up and doing some breathing techniques.

I think it is all about comfort as far as depth and time underwater goes. I have been a competitive swimmer all of my life and that has helped me in more ways than just being comfortable underwater. It helped me to reduce my resting heart rate to around 40 bpm, so when I relax, I really relax.

I can dive about 50-55ft and have a bottom time of about 2 min.

Re: ~*Static Breath Holding Contest*~

Cool game. I took a few slow deep breaths. On the last one, exhaled everything and took a big one with a few gulps. When I woke up, the watch says 6mins 12secs. Can anyone beat that yet?

that is where I want to be at...i don't need to set depth records, I just wanna be able to move about freely and not feel rushed
