Re: Very fame! Wow!

I saw an 11# last week and it was measured with a scale on the spot. Of course, it was returned to the dark waters.......wasn't me but fun, fun, fun to see friends and see a bug like that brought up.

Re: Very fame! Wow!

Forrest is a really nice guy, and yes he is looking for 5, 10, 15 min of fame... its called marketing yourself. Nothing wrong with that. Maybe one day he'll have his own TV show cause of all these stunts. WTG Forrest. Haterz gonna hate. LOL

Also raising awareness of our abundant local resources, and the respectful, sustainable way that freedivers collect them is very good for our sport.

Anyway, I enjoyed the video, it was well done.

Re: Very fame! Wow!

This guy Tony got this one at anacapa in the 70's he told me it was almost 5 feet long, hes 5'9" for reference . Crazy story he told me. Let's see if he's still on this board maybe he can chime in.

He spent a lot more effort trying to get his story out there.

Tommy just took a picture of his catch, posted it on facebook, and then keep the full report to himself and his close friends. This is the first I've heard of the weight.
(And I don't know what's up with me, but I'm kinda losing my excitement over his catch, since he hasn't shared a report yet.)
Although I haven't seen him in years, Forrest and I have some mutual friends. A few years back I had the pleasure of being invited on his whaler for a H&L trip. He is a good dude..lots of laughs, wouldn't take any gas money, and I genuinely hope our paths cross again one day.

He has chosen to turn his passion for the ocean into something more. Maybe its not what you would want for your life...but you cant knock the guy for a choice like that. IMO we could use more people like him in the public spotlight (instead of the usual morons that get plastered on TV).
