2004 Honda 135HP Flushing
I am trying to flush my motors using the hose connection on the side of the engine. Water pressure builds up until the hose comes apart. No water coming out anywhere else.
Ideas??? Help!! |

Re: 2004 Honda 135HP Flushing
I am a HONDA outboard dealer in Flagler Beach Fl....The flush hose you are working with, really is ineffective and doesn't work well...I tell all my customers not to use it and use a "earmuff" type on the lowerunit.
Sounds like yours is clogged, likely with corrosion, too boot.... Though I have not seen engine block corroded thru on the 135 Honda, the 225, 250 has a history of corring out and leaking cooling water within the rear of the cowl...Always flush with freshwater these engines, everytime you use them.... |

Re: 2004 Honda 135HP Flushing
The only use for the "flushing device" in question is when boat is in the water and "earmuffs" are not an option.
No question about it the "earmuffs" do a better job. |

Re: 2004 Honda 135HP Flushing
In his particular case the "flush device" doesn't work....So he has no flush that way without repair...
The water pressure will keep the salt water away while flushing with the earmuffs while the boat is in the water. The real issue is just how hard are the earmuffs to put on the lowerunit when in the water. Taste the water pump indicator water, it will be fresh as the hose. |
