Remember guys, to best fake a picture, start out working with a large high resolution, and then after you are done, shrink it down and degrade the image quality to hide any flaws, and to blame any discrepancies on!
I know that guy who shot that fish and if you knew him you would know that the picture is not doctored, I'll email and ask him if he has any different pics.

Re: Barracuda?

I was in Sierra Leone west Africa a couple of months ago and we ate the heck out of barracuda for about 7 night straight. Tasted good and I never felt bad. They would catch them locally and the ones I saw them clean were not that big.

I dropped the head in a big pot of water and brought to a boil. You don't want to boil them too much because there are a lot of pieces that will fall apart and be lost. You basically want the flesh to soften up so you can pull the jaws out instead of waiting for them to fall out. I used a tube of glue and put it back together. They come out better than a shark that's twice the size.

Re: Barracuda?

That set of jaws does not belong to a black fin barracuda does it? black fin in my opinion have a better dental plan than a great barracuda.

Re: Barracuda?

There is a reason why they are unregulated in the Gulf, no size limits and no bag limit...

But as soon as I see one reaching over 6ft long im gonna blast him FO SHO! then im gonna send his nugget to Skulls Unlimited and get it mounted in a glass case.

They are not "HARD" to kill per se, but they must be handled with extra care (unlike other fish species). Sometimes they can charge towards you but what I do is I shoot them and give them line, call the boat or swim to the boat and get on, then I pull them up once the cuda is tired and everyone is out of the water. Thats pretty much it. Not much to it. If you don't stone or spine them, they will run like crazy which makes it so exciting. Like I said, I just give them my float line and swim to boat, get on and pull them up. Also, sometimes they might "look dead" but they can still randomly chomp their teeth, so make sure you either brain them, or trow them in the cooler and don't get your fingers close to its mouth. I had one on board for over 20 mins, wanted to take a picture, when I went to grab it by the gills, it snapped at me. Almost got my hand.

Cheers

If you shoot them in the head they are pretty manageable. Mid-body and their gonna run like a bat outta hell. Not tomention when your trying to subdue them they thrash around and could slice you.

Re: Barracuda?

From a while ago... if anyone is bored. I think kevlar or dynema gloves would be highly recommended with them.
