Make them fear you!
Wonder how many studies it took to come up with that?

There was a lot of BS and disinformation in that article.

Re: Make them fear you!
Well, I try to do my part. Third pic is coyote engaged with a "Judas" dog . A decoy dog. Judas dogs change the entire dynamic of calling coyotes.

Re: Make them fear you!
Two lamb killers taken in '08 . For the record, I'm usually pretty dubious when I get a call from someone who claims they are losing livestock to coyotes. 9 times out of 10, it's domestic dogs. BUT, when a coyote DOES get a taste for mutton or goats...it's on.
I had these on "Trail-Cams" , before I set traps. The rancher still lost lambs afterwards, so a friend and I went in with 'denning dogs', pistols, shovels and cleaned house the following April . No problems since. FWIW, I hate denning. It's a last resort option. PS... As you can see, both of these healthy males were good, strong specimens. Thick coats, no mange at all . Usually a desperate coyote with mange starts snatching stock.

Re: Make them fear you!
We've shot a few coyotes/coy dogs. My friend's g-pa's ranch is loaded with coyotes.

You make call sounds, coyote shows up, the Judas dog runs out to meet him and draws him in. Before you know it, the coyote is oblivious to you and others watching come in. We generally use jagdterriers, Airedales and sometimes jack russell's . The jagd's and Airedale's also do 'denning' work.

Re: Make them fear you!
I need to Kill Some of those Damn Dogs Near mY work. I have Seen them Chase a few Turkeys Down this year.
The Only Problem is I dont Believe in Trapping Animals. So It's hard to see them to Shoot them. I dont mind Killing them Out Right. I just hate to see an animal caged. Any Kind Of scent Work that you Guys Know of? I can Spray some of that down and Hang Out with my M1A and Shoot one.

You might be able to try misting... but you're talking about an animal that can smell through glass. Pretty hard to fool their nose. If baiting's legal you can try a mix of catfish blood bait with dry cat food. Bait the area for a week and then try a stand. Chances are they hit it at night, though. Always try calling 'em.

Re: Make them fear you!
my friend had a good idea foor yote bait. tie up some bandin roosters just far enough from each other so they caint get to each other. theyll make a hell of a racket and the yotes will follow. those coy dogs looked badass, 'cept the puppy he woulda been a cool ass pet or maybe not but i always thought a coy dog would be a good huntin dog
