Bluefin & YT off Dana Point: 1/11/19

The tuna are still around with some yellowtail in the mix...About 6 miles off Dana Point, some massive schools of foamer tuna popped up this morning...Find the bird schools, porpoise and bait and there is a good chance of finding tuna under them...Water temps dropping, so, the fish will be departing shortly....check the temp breaks and chloro on the charts to narrow down the areas where the fish may be currently....there are also some lunker size halibut inshore off Dana and Newport ...They have roe, so, they are in spawning mode, meaning a chance of finding a big one in shallow...
