Middle grounds Friday 8-11-2017

We left around 5:30 am for a one day round trip to the Florida middle grounds. We planned to dive the central section
of the grounds which is a distance of 110 miles from home port in Tierra Verde (St Pete).

We traveled a total of 250 miles round trip, returning to port around 7:30 pm. We completed 6 drops total for 3 dives
each for two groups of divers. Average depth was around 100'. Vis was 30' plus with 1.5 kt current.

Our take for the day was 8 BIG hogs, 4 bugs, 4 mangos, and 3 gags. The largest hog was a whopper at 18 lbs.

This place is a spear fisherman's dream. The middle ground reefs are some of the most beautiful and largest I have had
the opportunity to dive. They are similar to the reefs I dove in Belize.

We'll being heading back soon.

Butch, looks like your Photobucket account is being held for ransom - they are charging a LOT of money nowadays to allow you the ability to post links. I switched to IMGUR, but you can also upload photos on this site here.

Crap! This looked fine when I posted. I'll fix it when I get a minute. Is there a way to post images directly? All see is the link reference request when I hit the insert image button.

Click "Go Advanced" at the bottom of your text box, then scroll down and click "Manage Attachments". "Choose files" one by one. Click "Upload" then "Submit Reply".

Alternatively and more viewer friendly, you can embed pics by doing the above, but before submitting, click to open and copy the image links now hosted on Spearboard in the Manage Attachment box. Then in your text box, click the square yellow insert image icon above and paste the link. Once you have all your image links embedded, then submit reply.

Thanks much for the picture posting instruction!. I'm going to ditch photobucket. Posting pics should be as easy as selecting a group of photos, but every web forum software seems to have different rules and methods.

The photos should view properly now, thanks again for the help.

Definitely! I've got some time in September coming up where I'm off for an entire week - email me or PM me here and we'll try to plan something either on my boat or yours.

This is what I found.
