Re: OMER vs JBL
Im not saying JBL's are all crap. My brother has a 38 woody (mine was aluminum .38) that he does great with. And i dive with others that shoot the newer jbls and they do fine as well. My experience just left such a bad taste in my mouth that I would rather give any other brand a chance before going back to JBL.

Re: OMER vs JBL
I haven't owned a omer but i do own a jbl northwest. the north west is under powerd in my opinion only because of the large shaft it fires. From what i herd a omer shoots a thinner shaft making it faster but if your hunting bottom fish go with the jbl if you not bottom hunting go for the omer.

Re: OMER vs JBL
When I started spearin' 15 years ago I bought a used JBL off a guy on the beach. It fed me for the trip, but was a piece of sh!t. A couple years ago, I wanted a cheap gun for a trip & their new Elites are a good value with one of the best triggers in the industry. I stone most fish with mine including both fish in my avatar. I used an RA 110 for years & it was great. I've never used an Omer...
FWIW, as far a size, I've used a 110 in the PNW & found myself shooting from the hip, wishing that I had an ~80 cm gun... I borrowed a 75 cm the next day & it was sooo much better for those conditions. Last edited by steepNdeep; 08-11-2012 at 11:27 AM. |
