Boat choice question...
OK, I'm relatively new to boats but not completely. I have owned a stand up 2-stroke jet ski and I have a small RIB now. I'm always looking & learning about why to choose whatever boats are suited for whatever needs. Here's one i don't completely understand still...
http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/boa/2076722417.html by the ad i'm assuming it's about 23' long and more of a pleasure/recreation style boat. Why would this be $6000 when more stripped down fishing boats are $15K & up? What am I missing here?... or is this a real good deal worth consideration?... keeping in mind I understand some of the basics like carpet being less ideal FOR FISHING & limited deck space not being ideal for diving/fishing & inboard/outboards are a little more complicated to work on.

Re: Boat choice question...
All around the U.S. I've seen cruising boats selling for much cheaper than fishing boats. I think the boat companies understand that people who are going fishing are more likely to pay the higher prices compared to someone who just wants a boat so their wife can get a tan out on the water. That being said, I've seen a lot of people buy used cruising boats and spend most weekends doing little repairs....more so then on fishing boats.

Re: Boat choice question...
I can't access the link you posted either. But $6000 is extreeeeeemly cheap for a 23 foot boat (and motor?).
Maybe a Mexican panga, more than 5 years old but in good shape. No motor. But a cruising boat? |

Re: Boat choice question...
Yeah, that post was pulled.
I have noticed alot of 21'-23' Trophy's going for $6k. The reason is they have "Force" motors on them...which nobody wants to touch. Aquahunter Ray once told me they make a great anchor.
