Best Speargun in the World

I want to thank Chad Morris (Griswold) for the very generous prize that he offered up for charity at the Blue Wild Expo. As many people on this board know, Chad makes some of the most incredible custom guns; they are innovative, unique and beautiful, plus I am sure they work as well as they look. He is quite obviously a perfectionist; if anyone has the slightest doubt, do a search for the thread he put up showing his garden (and the wooden tomato stakes he fabricated this spring).

His extremely generous donation to the Blue Wild was a gun; the “Best Speargun in the World”. How does one donate the “best” custom gun in the world? His donation was to make the winner WHATEVER speargun the winner can dream up.

He typically uses carbon fiber, woods and various polymers to create a functional piece of art. For this prize, Chad buys all the materials, designs the gun and then spends who knows how many hours fabricating it. What could be better than that?

I was extremely surprised to have won the auction at the Blue Wild for this incredible prize. I don’t even know where to begin on making my selection. I am certain I walked out of the Blue Wild with the best prize of the show.

Thanks Chad!

You are one lucky guy...I remember when he walked in with a CF gun at the Blue Wild...when it was at the IGFA by Basspro...best gun I had ever seen. Amazing attention to detail. I bought a ton of tickets when he donated a gun to the FRA... Didn't win though! Damn!
You have a tough choice now.... Do you go for a tuna gun you might use once or twice... or a smaller gun you could use every day.. I think I'd go for the tuna type gun .
Hope there are lots of pictures of the build.

Congrats

Glad you are excited, but "best in the world" is way over the top. I will do my best to make a good one.

I want to thank Griswold again for his very generous donation of a made-to-order gun. I'm glad it went to someone who appreciates quality.

A gun that is custom made is always a very special gift that comes from the heart. I'm amazed at the talent that exists among our tribe. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I am, and I appreciate quality workmanship more and more. It is a thing of beauty.

Hats off to you custom gun builders! .....

And that includes you, Wile E!

Jim, you're such a prick.

I would have won that gun if I had been there.

Chad – I checked out Dan’s gun the “Black Death” and I think you are being a little too modest. That is one awesome, fish killing gun!

After the auction, Jim was the happiest man in the build. The smile on his face said it all!

I'm not often jealous, but I'm jealous now.
