Lobster/crab pot bouys as float locally?

I have a couple lobster pot bouys I picked up from west marine. Will one or two of these together work for wsb or yellowtail? I can put three in a row if I have to. Sure would suck to lose my float line and shaft and slip tip

Cool, I'll give it a shot then. I don't think I'll be seeing any tuna around santa cruz island though. I'd consider myself lucky to see yellowtail, but maybe luck will smile on me.

Try putting 2 together flat-end to flat-end and jamming a 3/4" (?) PVC pipe through the center holes to hold them together, then spary paint the whole thing bright orange. Makes a cheap and easy float.

SDMF makes floats the same way. 2 lobster bouys on pvc, with some gorilla glue. works great. i know hes shot a yellow, dont know if he was using one of those bouys.
