Re: UK SL4 eLED vs UK C4 eLED
Between the two you mentioned, I prefer the C4 because I like the handle. I've had both LED and halogen, and noticed they don't run from the halogen as much. It's not that big of a difference though and batteries last longer with the LED.
Novelty wise, I really want to try out the SL4 with the UV bulb. Would be a trippy dive. |

Re: UK SL4 eLED vs UK C4 eLED
I tried rechargeables in a 4c UK halogen light. Turning the light on and off as needed, they never lasted through a 2 hour dive. That's why I stopped using that light and went to an led. My charger wasn't fast enough to charge the batteries back up overnight.
If I had the led version of that same light, it probably would have worked OK and I'd most likely still be using it. I know some light manufacturers, like Ledlensor, Maglight, etc. say not to use rechargeable batteries with their led's though. Don't know why. |

Re: UK SL4 eLED vs UK C4 eLED
The SL4 eled L1 is a great light, light weight ,compact, very bright, lasts about 4.5-6.5 hrs semi constant use without any noticeable reduction in output.
If you get an Sl4 get the eled "L1" version it has the highest output and longest burn time. We have a few of the L1's, but now I just buy the older xeon sl4's off FeeBay, scrap the xeon bulb and order some cree p60 led modules, bronze flange bushings, heatsink glue and make my own version of the eled L1, its super easy and MUCH cheeper and even more lumens than the L1 ! ! If you go the older sl4 route with the cree p60 xml led modules, get a light with a BLACK benzel not the older clear type, the clear type is prone to damage- scratching, cracking ,the black is tougher and absorbs impacts great. Both are interchangable and you can find new benzels cheep. |

SL4. I showed you why I feel it's the best overall light. As Mike said, the least light to do the job is the ideal light.

Re: UK SL4 eLED vs UK C4 eLED
Dove a crap ton for bugs like usually at least 3 times a week during the season all season
Princeton tech c4 and c8 are hands down my favorites Hallogens eat batteries too quick and the switch on the UK LEDs that I have used sucked so hard. The Princeton's can take so much abuse and keep going on the same set of batteries forever. My current light I found inside a breakwall
