Spearfishing Competition

On January 23 in Pompano held by the Broward Longfins, this one counts for points for the us Nationals if you are a club member. I think there will be a prize for first place or something. Will post more info when I find out.
It is a boat comp out of SE 14th marina if yo dont have a boat you can try to hitch a ride on a members boat. This is open to all spearos, you dont have to be a member to compete. Come on out and join the fun.

Re: Spearfishing Competition

Yes, the launch is from SE 14 street and boundries are from boca inlet to ft lauderdale cut. The rules are on Longfins news page. Cash prizes for 1st 2nd 3rd $100 for first I think. Fish are one point each with one point per pound up to 20#'s. Be there at 7:00 am and back by cutoff time. Would like to see some new faces, it is a lot of fun and hit the beer afterwards. Cost is like 30.00 per person. Funds raised by club go to support divers in the US Nationals.

Re: Spearfishing Competition

If anyone has space on their boat, I'd really love to get in on this competition! Let me know. Willing to chip in for gas/ice and whatever else.

Why dont you come down to one of the club meetings and meet everyone and tell us about yorself and that would help you get on a boat. We meet in the back of bass pro where the employees eat. Then we go to the bar afterwards and tell lies, I mean stories to each other.

if you want to go and need a ride on a boat, I suggest you call the officers. The contact numbers are on the site's home page.
