How necessary is an inflatable keel on a SIB?
I recently picked up a pretty decent quality old zodiac... The inflatable keel is not attached though... How necessary to you all think that it is to either repair it or rig something else in it's place? It's 10.5 feet if you feel this makes a difference.
Thanks, |

Is it sting attachd somehow flopping around? If so, you need to figure how to blow it up.
If it's gone and there's just a smooth floor, you're probably ok. Check out rib.net |

What I ended up doing was making one out of some pool noodles... Formed them pretty similar to the original(cut to shape) and wrapped it in tape. I just used some good duct tape to tape it to the floor and the floor boards keep it in place just fine. Came out and works better than I expected and cost all of about $10 haha.
