Omer Cayman 90 Band Question

It's been over a year since the last time I jumped in the water looking for fish and I need to get back.

I pulled my Omer Cayman 90 out yesterday and see that I will need to replace the bands. They are the screw in type. Can anyone tell me what type of bands to purchase. Looking online, the product descriptions and size charts are murky at best. Kind of like the local conditions have been lately.
Thanks.

Re: Omer Cayman 90 Band Question

I think i would look at buying these adapters, so you can make your own bands easily from now on. Get the necessary parts and you can make the bands however you like them.

Re: Omer Cayman 90 Band Question

This is the Omer range that use screw in muzzles for the Cayman handle. Either 16 mm or 18 mm, although a 16.5 mm is listed for one model, but not shown in the spares listing (from the 2020 catalog).

Re: Omer Cayman 90 Band Question

Thank you gentlemen for the responses.

jfjf - That would be the long term way to go. I like the idea of being more self sufficient. BTW, That is a gnarly photo of that finger that cut off.

popgun_pete - Thanks for the info. I would assume that the 18mm would have more power than the 16mm...right?

Yes, it takes more force to stretch a greater cross-section of rubber, so more powerful per unit length of rubber. More thinner bands or fewer thick bands, splitting the loading effort is the advantage of multiple bands, plus you can leave one off for lower power shots where the spear tip may be at risk, like rocks!
