New roller prototype, a lot of shooting of stuff lol
I made this speargun using cloth-line rollers and a cedar plank... and it shoots great!
I rather like the result. I'm working on a 120 cm version in iroko.

Re: New roller prototype, a lot of shooting of stuff lol
I hear you, that's why I make my own. If you have the tools, you can make them any size to fit the barrel without having the rubber drag on the barrel. Also I like to keep it simple, a material with a high coefficient of friction pared with a polished axle is good. The pully only revolves a few times during the shot, it's not like a ball bearing on a motor shaft that has to spin constantly at high RPM's. Water between the axle and roller provides the lubrication.
You made a gun a number of years ago that I absolutely love the design of, very mechanical in nature. Of course, who can forget the T-bar speargun. |
