Re: CA wildfires

Really makes you thankful for what you have when you see the loss of life and property.
Liveleak had a video of a guy that survived as the fire jumped through the area his friends lived in.He came to get them out. There were burned skeletons in cars that were still smoldering.

Yea, they age restricted that video. I had it posted above. It sounded like they died because a woman had to put on her makeup.

Living in FL all my life, I'll take a hurricane over this crap any day.

I hope Trump and the Feds don't give California one ****ing dime in assistance.

If California wasn't spending half of its annual budget feeding, clothing, housing and educating illegal aliens, including protecting them with sanctuary cities, maybe California would take better care of its public lands and wouldn't need federal money to clean up its messes.

F_CK CALIFORNIA where you pay one third of your income in taxes!

It's sad. Conservative minded people are caught up in this hell generated by progressive policies. CA is a beautiful place that many would like thrive in. The **** wads have screwed it up though.

I would love to visit California again. Especially northern California as I enjoyed it when I visited about 15 years ago, but I refuse to go to that shit hole ever again and give the state one single dime of my money.

Re: CA wildfires

Marcus you are spot on. I was raised in northern California near Paradise, and have friends who live in the town of Paradise. They got out with their motorhome. That was it. Everything else is in ashes.

My father was a professional forester on the Plumas National forest for decades, working for the Forest Service. My father and I have watched the mismanagement of the forest by the federal and state governments for a lifetime. All they are doing is setting up the forests to burn rather than allowing logging that would provide wood fiber for the nation, better habitat for the wildlife, and fire protection for the people.

These fires are the result of 60 years of refusing to log the forests, and instead allowing them to become diseased, dying, and dead stands with no fuel breaks, and building up an exceedingly high fuel load of tinder dry material ready to explode at the drop of a match.

My father predicted this decades ago. He has sadly been proven correct.

The radical environmentalists got what they wanted: locking up the forests from logging. This is the result.

https://www.mercurynews.com/2017/10/...ldfire-safety/

A year ago, a bipartisan bill aimed at reducing the risk of wildfires from overhead electrical lines went to Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk.

It was vetoed.

in the fires’ infancy that found that there were numerous downed and arcing wires. In the first 90 minutes Sunday night, firefighters were sent to 10 different spots where problems had been reported with the area’s electrical infrastructure. The crews reported seeing sparking lines and transformers.
