Re: Daily vis report

easy access to sn luis pass so tanks would be good option stay by the bridge watch the current it is just like the jetties the currents can rip through there

Re: Daily vis report

I just came back from strolling my kid to Bob Hall Pier on NPI. The viz was crap due to the surf. Wed Night and Thurs AM was super duper clear at packery and bob hall.

Want to buy some more west wind!

Re: Daily vis report

Just flew over the port A and Packery jetties. Viz looked good on the ocean sides... Wish I wasn't working! Wind should make it even better this week.

Re: Daily vis report

Yeah, post front so the surf is down. With the E. wind, the gulf side of the S. Jetty or the Quintana jetty might be do-able (protected side). Seas forcasted to pick up on Tuesday, so Monday is gonna be it if you want to try.

I have not checked it out, just pontificating...

Re: Daily vis report

I just got back from the South Port Aransas Jettie. I worked the inside and oceanside and it was very nice... not awesome... but very good. I call it 10-12' viz. I did the first half on the inside and last half on the outside and saw lots of small sheeps, HUGE MULLET, small snapper and the rest of the regulars. I didn't kill anything because I did not want to clean a stringer of small sheepshead.

I followed a really big Kemps Ridley turtle for about 15 min as he stirred up the sandy bottom of the surf side looking for crustaceans... watched him spook a few sting rays as well. I will probably post a video when my In-Laws leave and I get my computer room back!
