No criteria. Just cool avatars. Think mass appeal because spearboard will be voting.

Who's the guy posing with that marlin and the four hot girls in bikinis? Not really spearo-centric but a cool avatar all the same.

You should have two categories, with or without fish

And thanks for the nomination diehardfisher, when I found this pic I went wow!, that is true spearing art, a classic and I'm glad moderators saw it that way too and have let me keep it there for years, one time I changed it and got a lot of pm's to put it back.

Re: SpearBoard Road to Final Four - Avatar Contest

Despite already owning three Surf Fur parkas in the family, I'd sure love to have another one...

If there were only more soft-hearted dads, I'd have a chance...

But I'll second (or third) Bill's recommendation of Chris' avatar. That photo is worthy of the cover of a magazine that could grace my coffee table any time.

If bajahunter wins it...he will have to pick up his parka over a bottle of Balvenie Portwood when Zenon simultaneously delivers it to my place.

I guess it doesn't really have anything to do with the appeal of the avatar, but I think a neat thing about Chris Oak's avatar is that it wasn't posed. Usually, if you shoot a fish with Dam around, he want's you to spend the rest of the day going up and down while he takes photos. I swam by Chris and Dam on the way to the boat and saw them together. When they came back to the boat, I asked Chris how much work Dam made him do, but it turned out that Dam captured the actual recovery of the fish. Chris was really coming up with it the first time, and Dam caught it just right.

Not posed? It's very clear that Chris Kookamoto is flexing in the picture.
