Underwater Hockey
Well, tonight is my first experience with this underwater hockey. Quite frankly I am looking forward to it. Any pointers for a rookie would be gratefully accepted.

Yes...make sure to tighten the speedos so that the back part is almost invisble between your butt chicks....

Re: Underwater Hockey
Swim at least 500 m before the games starts. You'll thank me if you do.

Re: Underwater Hockey
Kev: good game tonite, let me know if you want to do some training at URI's pool, i can prolly sneak you in. You should come tomorrow, its a totally different game, and a lot less cramped, its a good place to really see what skills you have, and what you need to work on.

Re: Underwater Hockey
Em
That was an awesome workout last night. I just thought I was in shape, it is totally different from freediving, lap swimming, or anything else I have done in the water. I was totally out powered though with those tiny fins I wore. I am ordering new ones this morning. I think it was pretty clear to everyone I stepped on, hit and bumped into, that my skill level was at entry level. Half of the game I think is learning to maneuver around all those fins and bodies. I am glad I went and I will definitely make it a regular game. I can't make it to URI or Conn yet. Too many commitments, but I am certainly interested in going. I would like to improve my skill level and endurance first also. It was a good time and a lot of fun! You were pretty impressive to watch, both you and Joe have some real stamina and bottom time. It is a lot harder than spearfishing, that is certain. Kevin |

Re: Underwater Hockey
Is UWH a weekly event? I really want to develop a workout regimen at a place somewhat close to the URI area.

Re: Underwater Hockey
If you are looking for a game anywhere in the world, check out the Underwater Hockey Tourist. Great site, typically up to date.

Re: Underwater Hockey
Gainesville would be the closest to you. I think the contacts on the UWH tourist site are current. I have a different email for Greg Mullersman than is on that site so you can PM me if you like I can get you in touch. The other contact Dave Wiles is a spearboard member *i think*.
