Starfish Die off

Here is a story about a starfish die off they are not sure if it is some kind of an infection that will spread to other sea life.

I looked at the video and it looks to me like the population is too large to sustain itself. This looks like a natural process to me due to over population.

It is also happening along Sonoma coast and farther south. They are calling it Starfish Wasting Disease. They kind of rot from the center and the legs crawl away from the dead body. It appears to be affecting other types or starfish as well.
