Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

It was a great day for sure loved the top to bottom vis! It's funny how I can be 100 feet on the other side of the boat and miss seeing that whole school! I kicked over as hard as I could and placed a shot stoning his king! Then 15 seconds later the school came back! Derp better 1 in the boat then none I suppose lol.

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

15 miles off NPR in 25 ft was 67 degrees, TTB vertical, hazy 20 ft. horizontal. Not many gags would let you get close, mangos were average, all baby hogs and schools of big sherpa, snook and redfish. Some of the biggest damn redfish I've ever seen and it was really weird to see amberjack, snook and redfish schooling together. Must have been 20 or so fish schooling together.

Good day to say the least. Get out before the front rolls in if you can.

Freediving off Ana Maria Island 12/29/16 in 25-50ft. Viz was a hazy ttb and was a murky 25ft viz horizontally on the bottom. All in all we had a great day spearing plenty of hogs and some jumbo gags. Shot some gags in the low to mid 30" range.

Nice AJ, Charlie. Hoping to get out sometime in the next 2 months before they inevitably close AJ for being "overfished"

Cool Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

1/14 west of npr 35' of water. Smooth seas... Viz ttb and hazy. It got hazy as the day progressed. Got AJ's. Biggest was 54lbs. We shot hogs, mangos, and sheep as well. The sheep were super thick! Gags everywhere! Too bad season was closed!

Weather buoy earlier in the week hit 14' I doubt there will be any Vis for a while. 2-4' all weekend as well

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

Thanks. Is there a way to access the actual historical buoy measurement data instead of going off of the predictions?

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

I'm also in the camp of the weather isn't going to be good enough to try to find out if the viz is doable. But I will say the viz has been so good lately 55 and beyond that I doubt it's terrible. Just more back to normal.
