Mares phantom trigger mech

Just today my mares started firing on its own when I loaded the second band. Is the trigger replaceable on these guns and if so does anyone know who might carry them.

Re: Mares phantom trigger mech

Here is a way to check. Load the spear in your gun and fully rig the shooting line, but don't cock the bands. Use a block of wood with a hole drilled through it that the spear tip with folded down flopper will pass through and then extend the flopper. Stick the spear tip in the ground and stand on the block of wood with both feet. Squat slightly and grab the gun with both hands at mid-length and while pushing down with your legs heave the gun upwards with a rapid jerk. Have an assistant watch what happens if the spear pulls free of the gun, then you can work out what is going on.

Trigger mechanisms usually let go when they are not fully locked and this can be caused by mono in the sear box impeding the proper movement of the mechanism.

If after Pete's suggestion for testing you figure out that the mechanism is fubared, then I would contact directly the manufacturer or the dealer you bought it from. Maybe there is a known issue with that mech and they might replace it at no cost.
