Rob Allen 5mm 2-Piece Camo Suits

Hi,
I have an over abundance of 5mm RA suits from my recent Distributor days.
They are 2-piece Ultra flex (Farmer John style)
Xtend lined - Reef Camo

They normally retail around $330
Will sell them at $195
Most sizes available Small thru XL.

Please PM me.

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Rob Allen 5mm 2-Piece Camo Suits

I used one of those suits. They are Lined, but not Nylon Lined.. They are lined with XTEND which is a material with 24O% the flex of Nylon and matches the flex of the outer Ultraspan. Similar to a Top End Surf Suit. What I liked about those suits was that I could use them for the Whole Season in New England. I'm sure they would be a good match for Southern CA as well, or a Winter Suit for fla. I also had an Open Cell Vest for Early morning or Second Dives. There is something nice about having an ULTRA flexible Lined Suit. They are so easy to maintain. No Tears. Long Life. If you are someone who finds yourself cold in a 3.5mm and is tired of tip toeing around trying to figure out how to care for an Open Cell Suit.. These would be great for you. You can take them off on a jetty or in the sand. Roll them up in a ball. Throw them in the back of your truck. etc............ You can also try them on in the store.

Sounds like an excellent deal Mike. PM sent.
Jon, Will this keep you as warm as open cell? It gets wicked cold on the bottom in NE.

This should give an idea of the pattern and color of the suits

Re: Rob Allen 5mm 2-Piece Camo Suits

Hi fletch,

Open Cell is generally warmer than Lined Suits. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but maybe Mike could check and see if those suits have an Open Cell Chest on the farmer John?

But....... there's more to it than just Open Cell vs. Lined.. These suits are made from Compression resistant Neoprene, and they use only the Best, ie highest stretch materials. These suits will last, and be flexible.

Will they keep you warm for NE? Usually when you start diving in NE is @ early May? The water is cold, but you should be alright in this 5mm. This suit should be good all year up there unless you get Hot easily. One trick is to get an Open Cell Vest or Under Short John then you can get away with one suit for the whole year, even in the coldest days of the dive season.

Here's some other pics of that Camo.

Jon is correct.
The chest of the farmer John is open cell.

Re: Rob Allen 5mm 2-Piece Camo Suits

I thought I remembered that. The Open Cell Chest on these suits are a Really nice feature. The OC is on the Chest of the farmer John Top. This does give you that Warm and cozy feeling on your core, but the suit is very user friendly.. easy to put on, easy to take off, easy to dry.

Re: Rob Allen 5mm 2-Piece Camo Suits

Wondering if that suit has a brother....did they make them in green also? I have a green ra suit I believe made exactly like those camo. If so, those are great suits that really take a beating. Ive had one for about 3 years now without a tear or rip anywhere. That's saying alot since i do walk in reef dives the vast majority of the time.

if its the same suit, that is a killer price and a super deal that shouldnt be passed up.

Re: Rob Allen 5mm 2-Piece Camo Suits

i bought one of these suits this summer. Definetly a well built suit, but obviously not as warm as a full open cell suit. I subsitute the top with a 5 mill open cell top for the begining and the end of the the northeast season. $195 is a steal for one of these.

Re: Rob Allen 5mm 2-Piece Camo Suits

Those suits Do Not require Lube. They are XTEND lined everywhere but the Upper John, so you can put them on or take them off in the back of a Pick Up or on a Cobblestone beach. Similar suit to the RA Green, but these are Camo and 5mm. But similar Open Cell on the Upper John.

Re: Rob Allen 5mm 2-Piece Camo Suits

Would it be much warmer than a 3.5mm open cell suit? Looking to do some diving in the colder water here in UT and need a thicker suit. Currently own 2 3.5mm open cell suits.
