Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
My son and I did a shore dive at Watch Hill yesterday afternoon. Visibility was mostly a solid 10 feet, conditions were a little rough with the southeast winds. We worked and the rocks asked to buy the lighthouse and we saw a few undersized Skooly‘s and some tags. Nothing that I saw was shootable.

I finally got my first Bass of 2019! Visibility was mixed in Jamestown this morning 5-10ft, pretty good overall. Shot big scup too. |

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Agador,
If you want to take my son, that would be fine. He has a lot more time available than I do right now. He is just waiting until the fall when he will enter active service with the Army. I would bring them when they were very young while stationed in Puerto Rico. Honestly, it was more like just dangerous babysitting in the ocean than spearfishing. We did a couple of youth tournaments at Sachuest when we moved to CT. As teenagers they never wanted to go. Now that he is a young man of 22 he suddenly decided he wants to really do spearfishing this year. I am trying to get out with him as much as possible with my limited time, but he needs a couple of dive buddies to keep it safe. I hope you get to enjoy some dive time with your kids like I have mine. |

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Didn't want to wait till Monday and went Narragansett today before noon. Ocean is pretty calm, but visibility suxx. 8-10 ft on shallow and 3ft below 35'. Followed a layer of clear water around 25' (closer to shore) and shot my bass there Perhaps tomorrow will not be a bad day to go.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Viz was good at Weekapaug. It's indeed an easy spot for beginners. No current, no big wave. I went after low tide around 10am and I got 20ft easily. Later at high tide viz was no better, slightly worse actually. I saw a school of strip bass, probably too small or just at 28. And also a big elongated shape. Was not a tog, could have been a big striper but I was too far in his 6 to shoot. Also plenty ohhuge togs and blue crabs. Nice place.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
A murky 6-8 feet at house yesterday. been a while since I jumped in but seems like the algae finally bloomed on top of the particulate in the water. but on a more positive note, saw plenty of solid bass! shot this guy after being in the water maybe a total of 30 minutes!

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
Has anyone dove Brenton Reef in the past couple of days to know how the vis has been? Trying to decide between the reef and staying inside the bay somewhere for tomorrow and was hoping to hear some vis reports. Thanks!

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread
It was close to work and my son really wanted to go, so, I against my better judgment, we dove near Long Beach in Stratford Connecticut. The visibility was a murky 2-3 feet. It was a great reminder as to why I do not normally dive in Connecticut, especially this far west.
