Farewell Spearboard Friends

Tired of constantly being censored, having posts deleted, being threatened with being banned because I own a company and choose not to pay for advertisements. If you guys want to keep up with us or have any questions at all you know where to find us!

Same old story with this place. And honestly the behind the scenes bullying - as well as the off-topic-BS in many threads - is one of the reasons it took me forever to sign up. Funnily enough the owner here doesn't actually create much real content other than sharing his click baity articles from time to time. The real meat, the real useful advice in this place comes from the users. And as such, if he ever wanted to argue that payment is fair, one could make the argument that he should pay to the people who actually have a long standing record of being helpful and posting advice by the thousands of posts here. I am not against people making a living hosting forums, but then be open and transparent about it.
For the record, I have never seen you push product and honestly, wasn't even sure you ran a biz. I just enjoyed your posts.

I think if this board implemented thumbs up and down buttons, the owner would have a tool that could show him who a lot of people actually respect and like to have around - and the opposite. And what is not cool behavior from both users and admins. We had that on another forum and it worked wonders.

Re: Farewell Spearboard Friends

That is certainly a great loss and wish you would reconsider. A lot of people come here for equipment and setup advice and it would be a shame if the people that provide this information are not here anymore. I certainly am happy you put me on the stiff spectra stuff for wishbones and even for shooting line!

It is only for a handful of contributors that I keep coming back. I wish they all moved to a well moderated forum. Unfortunately these days this board is sad place.

Dang. losing one heavy hitter from the lineup. We're all connected elsewhere, but this place has been a good mix of ideas. Sorry to see one who has been a solid contributor and who can add to the Collective Knowledge Base at a high and technical level, depart. A good soup needs good ingredients. Some hot chillis, some onions.., some garlic, ginger, etc.. it's not the pot, but the quality ingredients that makes the soup..

I love good soup and I've met few moderators, managers, admins, hall monitors who make good soup
