Very pretty bird. I never saw one growing up in the St Pete area. Did they arrive on the West Coast after I left?

See them and white pelicans on dredge pit ponds every winter while looking for fossils.

They start showing up around here with Noreaster's in the fall. The fiddler crabs they munch on get red claws in the fall and it gives them their color. We really enjoy watching them and point them out when they fly past our house.
