Rob Allen barrel flooded

I've got a Rob Allen 80cm that is my work horse. I don't know how, but somehow the barrel has flooded. I pulled off the muzzle to see if the leak was at that plug. Its not. Apparently its the plug at the handle end. I'm having a hard time removing the handle, though, which I understand is common. I actually don't have a problem with the barrel being filled as its my hole gun, but I don't want water sloshing around changing the weighting as I use it. Any thoughts on how to handle the situation?

Thanks.

Re: Rob Allen barrel flooded

I had that problem with one and used penetrating oil to get the handle out then just siliconed the hell out of the barrel around the plugs. Havent had a problem since. Make sure to wipe the oil off quick since it will etch the aluminum if left on too long. Good luck

or drill a big hole into the barrell and flood it every time and empty every time

if anything it will reduce your recoil hahaha

Re: Rob Allen barrel flooded

Stop diving so deep.

Just call Greg & Vanessa up, they'll sort it out.
As distributors, I'm sure they're interested in what happened as well since it's rare.

I'm assuming this is your 80?
I have an 80 (or 70 or 90) you can use in meantime.

Funny lunker mentioned drilling a hole - I have a makeshift 50cm RA from really old parts (pre-green handle, brown RA barrel, old school muzzle) that fills with water. Not something I'd actively do with a new gun, but it's a pretty bitchin floatline anchor!

Oh, good point. As a matter of fact I bought this gun from the Freedive Shop, so I'm sure they'll be willing to back it up. Thanks for the offer to let me borrow your 80. I'll take you up on it. (I could have sworn that you asked to borrow my 80 because you only had the 70 and 90... did they have a baby!?). Did you hear Bryan's report of this past Saturday? Pretty epic. Wanna dive Sunday?

Like I said, I really don't mind the barrel being filled. In the past I've tried things to make the gun heavier, so this would certainly accomplish that. Problem is that it's only about 2/3 full right now, and I don't want the water to slosh forward and back as I tilt the gun or for nasty rotting salt water to leak out into my garage slowly or something of that sort.

Re: Rob Allen barrel flooded

i would drill a hole (about 1/4" )near the muzzle and one near the handle and let it flood , it is important to drill 2 holes front and back so it will flood and drain quickly , later if it is too muzzle heavy you can add a divinicell rod in the muzzle to make it balance better if needed
