Sherpa Dip
I saw Tyson online today and it made me think of Sherpa. Then I recalled I've recently crafted my version of Crab Dip, but using Sherpa instead. Damn good stuff - thought I'd share it with you guys.
Sherpa Dip (1) 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened 1 Teaspoon lemon juice 1 Teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 2 cloves minced garlic 6-12 oz. imitation Sherpa Crabmeat (See instructions on how to make) 1 pinch Kosher or Sea Salt 3-4 grinds fresh black pepper 1 Teaspoon (or more depending on your taste) hot sauce (Crystal is best) 1/4 Teaspoon onion powder 1. In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese until soft and smooth. Blend in lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, hot sauce and salt and pepper. Mix in garlic and fake crab meat. Store, covered, in refrigerator until ready to use. 2. Serve cold with crackers or good french bread, or warm up in microwave. SHERPA CRABMEAT Take 4 small to medium fillets of sheepshead, cut into small pieces. Put water in 3-4 quart pot, leaving about 2 inches space to top. Add 1 Tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning and 10 peppercorns. Boil water and add sheepshead pieces. Turn heat down to medium and stir occasionally. Do this for about 1 minute, then turn off burner. Drain fish through strainer, picking out peppercorns. Flake and put into bowl and refrigerate. Use in crab dip (above) or add melted butter for eating as-is. |
