Humpback encounter from last year

Fishing's been slow so I thought I'd throw this up for some entertainment... Found this young humpback chillin under a paddy (patty?) last year, he decided to swim with us for a bit, fun day!

Yeah, best dive trip of my life and I never saw a fish! This little guy turned a slow day into a surreal one... Couldn't believe how interactive he was.

Re: Humpback encounter from last year

I had a beaked whale come hang out with us like that for over an hour two summers ago about 40 miles offshore on a paddy. It was super rare as the Beaked whale is the deepest diving whale on the planet and can be submerged for over 2 hours at a time. For this reason the scientists have a hard time tracking and studying them. It was super cool, but that Humpback experience looks top notch! The stuff we get to do and see never ceases to amaze me.

Yeah that paddy was a house! Biggest one I've ever come across, thought it was going to be holding for sure... Turns out it was, a whale napping in the shade.
