New gun....

I know you get a thousand of these... but what would be a good gun for water up to 80 feet. Reef but sometimes I go for halibut. Vis. varies from 5' to 50'. I don't want to over power too much but I want to take that yellow tail or big white sea bass out at the kelp patties too. PLEASE HELP!!!!! Was looking at a Cressi-Sub Comanche about 90cm to 110cm but whatever you guys say. Have a limited amount of money (lets say $200? maybe $75 less than that Thank you!

I posted in guns and searched all through here but found nothing that was in my price range. I might just have to raise it but whatever.

Buy Riffe its a quality product as with most things you get what you pay for buy right the first time and you wont have to spend more in the long run. Buy a Riffe Metal Tech 3s its a great gun for reef and patty diving able to handle yellowtail halibut or small calico without overdoing it.
Theres the right way and theres the Riffe way!
Buy RIFFE

If you want accuracy sharp , you want euro style rail gun . IMO
like rob allen , picasso , rabitech , sporasub .

Im not bagging on riffe by any means, ive been down the same road as you and well i bought the riffe mt3 , than like anyone else bought my next gun , and then another . But it seems my picasso rail gun doesnt miss fish as much as my riffe did. Easy to deal with and its in your price range, riffe accesories get expensive .
my 2cents

My friend has a Picasso 140 cm and it is a total over kill of everything we shoot or have even seen. I am stilling waiting on a reply from my friend's dad who works for Picasso on a deal somehow. If that works I will probably ask for like a 110 cm. But I dou8blt it will work so that is why I am asking around.

Want to give me some links to sites where these guns are. I have probably been to most but I want to look at the again.

Thankyou.

Here's my limited experience, started with a old swim master (basiclly a JBL) that my uncle gave to me. That gun was lost and I got a RA 120 from norcalfreedive.com and am very happy with it. I just bought a picasso century 100 form scubastore.com for a second slightly smaller gun and buddy gun. both shafts are nearly the same length, haven't had a chance to use it yet but it looks good and a smaller profile than the RA,... at first glance, the RA is a bit more solid looking but that doesn't mean much. Both merchant's customer service and delivery speed were impressive, the picasso was more in you price range.

hope its OK to post these websites here, SS123 wsa asking.

Good luck, Donny

I would recomend going with a Riffe. I have the C-3X and I love it. I find it very easy to handle in the water, very silent and I don't have to worry about being under gunned when i see a nice fish. Some claim that railguns have better aim but i believe that aim has more to do with the Spearo holding the gun than the gun itself.
